    Update: Weird

Posted by Annie O on 7th Jul 2017

This is an update on my earlier post.

I removed the polish because it was so badly chipped in one day, and was pretty shocked to find my nails stained purple. I always use a base coat (Orly Bonder) and acetone remover, and have never had this happen before, even with dark polishes that I know will leave a stain (dark reds, blues, greens). I definitely don't recommend now :(. 123

Colour: The colour of this polish is different under different lights. The picture above is the polish under fluorescent light (a more bright, seemingly blue-toned shade of purple). Under sunlight or natural light, it's a red-toned purple that reminds me of royalty (hence the name).

Type: You can see some shimmer once applied, but I was surprised this is a matte polish. Once applying a top coat, you can't see any shimmer.

Consistency: It took four coats to get mostly opaque coverage, but even then there was streaky areas.

Chip-resistance: POOR. Chips insanely easily. Five of my nails were chipped within three hours, without doing anything beyond applying my make-up, going for a walk, and light typing.

Overall: Don't know what to make of this. I really want to like it; the colour is nice even though it's the most drastically changing under different lights that I've ever used, but the formula makes it really hard (too many coats needed, chips easily, unexpected matte). I don't think I'd recommend - there are many other great purple polishes out there. 123
