    Fiji colour has changed

Posted by Unknown on 17th Jun 2015

I was looking at pics on blogs of Fiji the other day. I used this colour years ago and I loved it - it was a nearly white shade with a whisper of pink. I ordered a bottle and then kept looking at reviews and blog posts and was wondering why half of the pics of Fiji appeared so pink (I thought maybe it was lightening). Then found one where the girl was comparing an old bottle of Fiji (pre 2011) with a new bottle which was far more pink. She wrote Essie and they acknowledged that they 'tweaked' the original shade. Many others posted similarly that they were upset they couldn't find that original bestselling pale shade of Fiji. I don't know why Essie would do this. Anyway, I got my bottle and it's far more strawberry milkshake pink than white'ish pink. It reminds me a lot of Butter London's Teddy Girl (which also has a horrible formula). Anyway - while I really wanted the original Fiji colour, this one is still nice, especially with a tan. Pretty much think McDonald's strawberry milkshake or mod pink. The formula is not so great though - it's thick and streaky and not self-levelling - you need to take your time with it. It's definitely not a slap it on and go kind of shade. It requires three careful coats for full opacity - there are bald spots at only two coats because it's such an opaque 'liquid paper' style consistency.

    baby pink shade

It's a pale baby pink colour. I liked it but not the formula.... it was not opaque even after 2 thick coats.. so definitely needs 3 coats. But I like the colour.

    Amazing

I absolutely love this color. It's so girly and it's a lovely shade of pink. I think that this is a really good color if you are going to a party or just hanging out at home. This is also a really nice color for all the girly girls out there. So I give this 5 stars.
