By the time I learned about Nfu Oh 51, it had already been discontinued. So I'd been on a desperate hunt for dupes. Looking at the bottle, Butterfly Effect might appear to be a dupe. But I was disappointed when I layered this on top of Deborah Lippmann's Other Side of the Moon. Butterfly Effect flakies are a lot more sparse compared to Color Club's The Uptown (another flakie polish that's supposedly a dupe for Nfu Oh 51). One coat of The Uptown yielded a lot more flakies and a much better result compared to Butterfly Effect. It will probably take 2-3 coats of Butterfly Effect to match one coat of The Uptown. You also get more product with The Uptown for less money (15 ml) than Butterfly Effect (10 ml). If you're looking for a dupe for Nfu Oh 51, I would NOT recommend Butterfly Effect. 123
This jelly-based flakie varnish is very very close to Nfu Oh 51 that can also be bought on this site. It can be worn alone or give a great twist to other colors. And the bottles are truly cool. Classy & old school. See it on top of a england Tristam here on my blog : http://rubisrubis.wordpress.com/2012/11/14/aujourdhui-je-me-gate-combo-de-deux-merveilles/ 123
